Medical SLP

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) currently in my clinical fellowship year with the Hawaii Department of Education. With a caseload of over 40 children, I address a diverse range of communication and swallowing disorders. I am on track to receive my Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) by June 2024.

My background as a professional singer and voice teacher, combined with my Master's studies in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Hawaii, has instilled in me a profound understanding and passion for voice rehabilitation. While I have found great satisfaction in working with children, my true calling is in the medical setting, particularly with adult populations. My externship experiences at Tripler Army Medical Center and the Veterans Administration were invaluable, allowing me to provide cognitive rehabilitation, voice and fluency therapy, and acute care for neurogenic and swallowing disorders to service members and veterans.

As I look towards the future, my goal is to secure a position as a medical SLP within the Oahu medical community. I am dedicated to offering personalized, compassionate care, and I am committed to working collaboratively with clients to meet their communication and swallowing needs. My approach is holistic and evidence-based, whether I am helping a stroke patient regain speech or assisting a singer in voice rehabilitation. I eagerly anticipate contributing my skills and passion to a medical setting where I can continue to make a significant impact on the lives of my clients.
