Speech-language pathologist
I am a licensed speech-language pathologist and singing voice specialist providing evaluation and treatment across inpatient and outpatient settings. My clinical focus is evidence-based voice rehabilitation, informed by a background in singing and professional voice training that gives me a performance-aware ear for career voice users and medically complex patients alike. Alongside voice, I treat swallowing, motor speech, and cognitive-communication disorders, and I support patients who communicate using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). I see patients at Straub Benioff Medical Center and the University Health Partners Speech and Hearing Clinic, and I serve as a faculty clinical supervisor with the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, where I mentor student clinicians. I also lead a SPEAK OUT! Group Class for people living with Parkinson's.
Conditions I treat
Voice disorders: muscle tension dysphonia, vocal fold paralysis, presbyphonia, benign vocal fold lesions, and specialized care for professional and performing voice users.
Gender-affirming voice: voice and communication training aligned with your gender identity.
Swallowing (dysphagia): evaluation and management of oral and pharyngeal swallowing difficulty, including instrumental assessment.
Motor speech disorders: dysarthria and apraxia of speech, including the speech and voice changes associated with Parkinson's disease.
Cognitive-communication disorders: support for attention, memory, and executive function following stroke, brain injury, or neurodegenerative disease.
Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC): assessment, trial, and setup of speech-generating devices and communication systems.
Getting started
Most patients are seen by physician referral. If you are a patient, ask your physician or specialist to refer you for a speech-language pathology evaluation, then call the clinic to schedule. If you are a physician or provider, I welcome referrals for voice, swallowing, motor speech, cognitive-communication, and AAC evaluation.
I see patients at two locations:
University Health Partners of Hawaii Speech and Hearing Clinic, 677 Ala Moana Blvd, Suite 625, Honolulu, HI 96813. Phone: (808) 692-1580.
Straub Benioff Medical Center, Rehabilitation Therapy, 888 S. King Street, Honolulu, HI 96813. Phone: (808) 522-4602.
